Post office building at Paradeplatz

The post office building on Paradeplatz in Mannheim, which dates back to the 1950s and is a listed building, is being completely renovated and modernised. The complex will be extended by a new building for 70 rooms for Motel One, and another 270 hotel rooms will be created in the old building. Due to its central location and the fact that the work is being carried out during ongoing partial operation, including Postbank and Telekom, this project poses very special challenges in terms of organisation and planning. Furthermore, WW-AC has been commissioned with the development of a heritage protection concept, which will be carried out in close cooperation and in a spirit of trust with the local heritage protection authority.

Work began in autumn 2020 and completion is planned for the end of 2022.

* The Paradeplatz is the central square in Mannheim's city centre. It takes its name from the historical fact that troops paraded here in the times of the prince-electors; in the 18th century it was known as the Alarmplatz.
