New design for the Shopping Center KOMM in Offenbach
Investing a new design: on behalf of the owner, a Canadian pension fund, the British Property Retail Specialist, Portus Retail is realising various renovation work in the inner-city Shopping Center KOMM. From September 2017 the Shopping Center will be completely repositioned both indoors and outdoors.
The aim of the extensive modernisation work is to increase the feel-good atmosphere and make a visit to the centre more enjoyable. The renovation measures will be carried out during on-going operations and completed in autumn 2018. The various constructive measures go hand in hand with the re-launch of the communicative image of KOMM, which can already been seen with the installation of the new KOMM Logo on the building as of 20 September.
The individual construction projects planned are in furnishing, new allotment schemes, routing system, escalators, lighting and sanitary facilities. The re-design of the Center has been put in the trusted hands of Walter Wiese-Architektur Consulting (WW-AC), an architecture consulting company that operates throughout Europe and specializes in retail refurbishments and restructuring.
The visible changes planned include the routing system and orientation being simplified with a new colour scheme to mark the different storeys. Wood panelling will achieve an increased feel-good atmosphere and make a visit to the Center even more enjoyable. Photo applications with motives from the city of Offenbach are integrated in the mall and hall areas and enhance the sense of identity of the Center as a major shopping address in the region. The new lighting concept is not only homogenous but, at the same time, also emphasizes special features. The Atrium in the basement has a lounge area with new flooring, modern furnishings and other design elements. The seating islands on all floors of KOMM will be re-designed and extended. All t his, plus the furnishing elements specially designed for KOMM makes it even more fun to visit the Center. The sanitary facilities will also be modernised.
The first construction measure you can see is the re-design of the outer facade in September 2017: the new KOMM logo is installed with a large-scale animation in the window facade on the first floor. The new KOMM lettering is also mounted above the main entrance at Aliceplatz and the entrance at Große Marktstraße.
KOMM
The Shopping Center KOMM in the city centre of Offenbach am Main is situated in the middle of the pedestrian precinct and, since opening in 2009, it has become a very popular shopping address in Offenbach. The customers appreciate the wide range of retail shops, services, restaurants and entertainment programmes. Some 50 shops over approx. 15,400 m² sales area offer a top-quality mix of chain stores and specialist shops. The retail anchor tenants are H&M, Müller, tegut, Thalia and Deichmann. The Center is also home to a medical centre, Praxisklinik Offenbach, a fitness centre “PURE Training” and also office facilities. The Center has 625 parking spaces.
